Do you think debit cards are safe?

Is it worthwhile to have a debit card or is it better to just use an ATM card instead? Is there any benefit for the individual to have a debit card? What about the easy access one would have to your account if one stole your debit card compared to losing your credit card? With an ATM card one needs to have the PIN number associated with, so it is useless for someone else to steal if they don’t have a PIN number, it. It appears to me that only the banks benefit from debit cards because of imediate payment and fees collected from merchants. Which card do you think is better to have for your checking account – debit or ATM?
But debit cards have either Visa or Mastercard logo which means one could clean out your checking account by using it as a credit card without needing a PIN number. And will the bank reimburse you for the money stolen or used from your checking account if it does happen. and if they do, how long would it take for them to reimburse you? You could be without your checking account money for a few months before they give it back to you. isn;t this enough reason not to carry a debit card?

Which is the best credit card to get after bankruptcy?

I recently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and have begun to receive numerous credit card offers by mail. I want to begin repairing my credit so that I can buy a house within the next 2-3 years. However, I want to be extra careful about the card I choose. What sort of things should I look for in a credit card offer? I recently received an offer from Capital One with the following terms: no annual fee, 0%APR for 6 months (12.9% thereafter) and at least ,000 in credit. It also states that automatic credit increases will be made to the account if you use the card within 90 days and make the first three minimum payments on time. It sounds sort of reasonable to me but I’ve also read a lot of negative things about Capital One. Should I just wait some more until I get better credit card offers from other banks? What are my options? Thanks.
