When will items fall off my credit report?
Will neagative items fall off when the statute of limitations has been reached or 7 years. Or whichever comes first?
I live in Kansas and our SOL is quite low compared to the magic 7 years for credit reports. Say the SOL for credit cards is 3 years. Does that mean they will fall off in 3 or 7?
Thanks.

Are There Homeowners who Walk Away from their Credit Card Debt?
I have an elderly aunt who owns a modest home. She was almost bankrupt but worked very hard to pay her credit card debt out of fear of losing her house.
Do people who own homes outright end up simply not paying their credit card debt? I am so curious as to whether people who own homes "get away with" not paying off their credit cards.
Was my aunt "foolish" compared to other people because she didnt’ simply declare bankruptcy?

What is the best way to negotiate an offer to settle your credit card bills?
I am no longer working and have closed my credit cards with high balances (the most is 00). I will be getting a chunk of money next month and would like to settle these debts on my own without having to use one of those debt management companies. What is a fair offer to make on a debt that size? How do I go about doing this, and what about my credit score? Please help.

What is the best credit card merchant account company?
I would like to accept credit cards for my small photography business. There are a number of companies out there offering to sell merchant numbers. Has anyone had a merchant number or know a company that is good to work with. Ideally I would like to run the credit cards over the internet as I don’t have a land line phone but will be selling more like retail.

Should I pay off my credit cards before I build an emergency fund?
Right now I have 00 in my checking, 00 in my savings account, and I setup an automatic payment of 0 into my savings account every month. I receive about ,000 in take home pay each month and my expenses are about ,000 including credit card minimum payments. I am wondering if it would make sense to stop putting in 0 into savings and pay off the credit cards instead. A lot of financial experts recommend to have at least 3 months of expenses into savings, however I want to lower my credit card debt and I wont be making nearly as much in the savings account compared to the loss in credit card interest. I also refuse to use any of my credit cards, and if an emergency comes up I am not sure if ,300 is enough. Please help!

Is it a wise decision to consolidate credit card debt with a personal loan?
I recently graduated college and was unemployed for several months afterward. My savings, etc, quickly ran dry, and I began carrying a credit card balance to live. I’ve begun working (finally), but my credit card balance is quite high now. The interest rates on my two cards range from 11.9% to 16.9%.
I’ve just finished paying for my car, so I now own it outright. The resale value is fairly high. I think I can get a personal loan through my bank to pay off my credit cards, especially if I use my car as collateral, at a rate of 8.9%.
I’m sure these compound differently, but I just don’t know enough about it to compare the costs. So, three questions:
1 – Would it save me money (in interest) to pay off the higher interest credit card balances with a personal loan through my bank?
2 – Is it wise to use my car as collateral?
3 – Does a personal loan "look better" on a credit report, compared to credit cards with high balances?
Thanks in advance!

What is the best first credit card for a college student?
I’m looking around for a good credit card to help build up my credit in the next year to help for later on when buying a car, and for now when I buy a dell laptop which I need good credit for the monthly payment option.
What’s one that doesn’t cost a lot, is good for a freshmen college student, and offers the best plan.
(Note: This credit card will mainly stay in my moms freezer unless its an emergancy and I’d like to keep good credit so no cards with pricey payment plans)
thanx!
Does wachovia offer credit cards to their users of their bank or a line of credit as you say.
