How profitable is it joining a credit union compare to a bank? Houston, TX Credit Unions members advise prefer
After extensive research, for a friend and me, I found out that Credit Unions are the best places to obtain a credit card, and loans. I live in Houston, Texas and found many options for a credit union so I don’t know which one to choose in terms of getting a good credit card with fraud protection and all that kind of stuff that a credit card from a bank like Chase have, a saving and checking accounts with no or < fees on each, and good range on loans.
I know the website that tells me which credit unions they offer here in houston, but I am more interested in personal experience with them and how did they work for you in both short and long terms. Most of the stuff I read has been only to praise each union, but which business doesn’t do that, so I want to know the good and bad of the union yourself have joined and which ones you recommend.

How long should I wait until applying for a secured credit card?
I have posted a smiliar question earlier, and i got great feedback! thanks! I didnt know you couldnt reply to answers in your question so here goes another….
I just applied to my last credit card 2 weeks ago (it was my second application ever, first one was back in august). I have no credit history (never had any loans, lines of credit, bills in my name, nothing) and i am trying to build it. I have been told to get a department store card, gas card, store only card or a secured credit card. I figured this may be the easiest way to go, the secured card, even though i dont feel comfortable/cant really afford to shell out 0-00 right now (im in the middle of moving). however, since i applied for the last credit card only 2 weeks ago, do i still have to wait the suggested amount of time (3 months) until i apply for a SECURED card?
or do you think i will have a very good chance with a WALMART store only card? That card i would actually use on a weekly basis as compared to a sears card or something of that nature.
Capital one also advertises on their website in the compare credit cards section, a tier of credit cards for "LIMITED HISTORY" applicants. does anyone have any experience/knowledge with these? would i have a good shot at one of these?
I just need to start building credit ASAP and i also cant really afford those darn "suggested waiting times" of 3 months in between applications!
THANK YOU!!
Will it hurt my credit rating if I pay off my car & student loans with a lower interest rate credit card?
My concern is that all of my loans will be in one lump sum on a credit card. There will no longer be any auto loan or student loan. It will look like I went shopping and won’t look very responsible

How many small loans before good credit?
I realize building credit is a slow process, but i was just wondering if anyone knew about how many small loans (500-1,000) paid on time would it take to get decent credit where you could get a little larger loans (3,000-7,000) and lower rate credit cards by yourself? any knowledge is welcomed

Question about using 0 % APR credit cards to pay off high interest loans.?
I have a loan of about 100,000$ for buying a house in India. I have a loan there but the interest rate is pretty high (10.25%). I have seen some people use these 0% APR credit cards to pay off low amount loans like these using balance transfer. How does this work and what are the risks involved?
